Since Johannes Muller in 1838 first descrived the term "Cystosarcoma Phyllodes", there have been still many unanswered questions about its clinical behavior, prognosis and proper treatment despite definate prognosis in clarifying some features of Cystosarcoma Phyllodes.
Most of these tumors are benign, but a few develop malignant sarcomatous change.
A 17-year-old unmarried female noted a thumb tip sized mass in the right breast in 1972 which has been growing up to a large bulky tumor (12 X 8 X 8 cm), entirely replacing the right breast over a period of one year.
She was treated with simple mastectomy in May,1973 at St. Benedict Hopital.
A review of literature on the Cytosarcoma Phyllodes is presented with the report of one case, treated here with simple mastectomy.
